LTC David E.A. Johnson, US Army (Ret.)

Lieutenant Colonel David E.A. Johnson, US Army (Ret.), is a highly distinguished military veteran, strategic leader, and national security innovator who is most prominently recognized for his transformative tenure as the Executive Director of the Center for Advanced Defense Studies (C4ADS). A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Johnson served for over 23 years in the US Army, developing deep operational expertise within the Infantry and Special Forces. As a decorated combat veteran and dedicated Army strategist, his career—which spans operations across six continents—earned him formal recognition outlined directly in the Congressional Record. Complementing his rigorous field experience with elite academic credentials, he graduated from the Command and General Staff Course and the Joint Defense College at the École Militaire in Paris, and he holds a Master’s degree in the History of Strategy from La Sorbonne. He further expanded his academic footprint through PhD research in Paris, during which he pioneered the concept of "Network Intelligence" and codified the "Rule of Requisite Redundancy".

Beyond his organizational leadership, Johnson's unwavering commitment to global security has manifested in critical, high-stakes humanitarian efforts. In 2021, he returned to Afghanistan alongside the non-profit Save Our Allies and the UAE's Operation Chivalrous Knight, playing an instrumental role in evacuating over 10,000 vulnerable individuals following the fall of Kabul. A multilingual leader fluent in English, French, Russian, and Arabic, Johnson continues to shape the future of international defense and technological integration.
